More than people expect. Scope, categories, budget bands, brand shortlists, dimensions and technical suitability all get resolved on a single call. The one thing that cannot be settled remotely is how a material actually looks and feels.
A first call usually gets a project from a vague idea to a real shortlist in under an hour, provided there are drawings or at least measurements. Without them the conversation stays theoretical, which helps nobody.
Bring to the first call:
Room dimensions, or a floor plan if there is one.
Photographs of the space as it is now, including the light at different times.
Any finishes already fixed, such as flooring or cabinetry.
A budget band, even a rough one. It changes which brands are worth discussing.
Your date on site, if there is one.
The same way as anywhere else in the GTA: freight into Canada, customs clearance, then a delivery window agreed against site readiness. For occupied homes, access and placement are confirmed before the vehicle is booked.
Detached homes are generally kinder than condos here, though not always. Narrow stairwells, tight landings and low basement ceilings cause more delivery problems in older lakeside houses than any elevator ever has.
Where a large piece has an awkward route, we check it against the drawing before ordering rather than hoping on the day.
Freight is booked once the manufacturer confirms the completion date, not before it.
Customs clearance is handled before the goods move inland.
The delivery window is agreed against site readiness rather than against the shipping date.
Access and placement are confirmed with whoever will be at the property on the day.

A renovation is a different sourcing problem from a new build. The existing house sets constraints that a new build does not have, and the specification has to work around openings, ceiling heights and services that are already where they are.
The product types you want, dimensions or drawings, any finishes already fixed, and your timing. From that we can shortlist brands and quote real figures, rather than the meaningless range a vaguer brief would produce.
If you only have some of that, send what you have. Incomplete information is normal at the start of a project and we would rather begin the conversation than wait for a perfect brief that never arrives.
